The Judds Are Hall of Fame Bound

The Judds Are Hall of Fame Bound

September 4th, 2021

Congratulations to Naomi and Wynonna Judd who will be inducted in the “Modern Era Artist” category in the Country Music Hall of Fame. The Country Music Association has revealed the 2021 inductees, which included Eddie Bayers, Ray Charles, Peter Drake and The Judds. Needless to say Naomi is thrilled and emotional, reflecting back on how they struggled to make in the super competitive world of Country music. ”When we moved to Nashville in the late 70s, still struggling to make ends meet and dressing Wy and Ashley in thrift store dresses, I could’ve never imagined the success we achieved as The Judds,” Naomi said. “I am beyond thrilled and humbled for this incredible recognition. There’s no greater pinnacle in Country Music than the Country Music Hall of Fame.” Wynonna was feeling the same way as her famous Mom, acknowledging that it had been quite a journey, “This moment takes me back to 1983 when Mom and I first started. We would get in the car and visit multiple radio stations a day. It kind of feels like I’ve hit the lottery. It is so surreal. John Lennon always said that he just wanted to be remembered, and now we’re truly part of history, or I should say HERstory. What an honor.” And it is an honor well deserved. The Judds are Country Music legends whose songs touched millions and the songs still do.

This makes me so happy! The Judds deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. I grew up on their music. My Mom played it all the time and she loved Naomi. She said Naomi was an inspiration to all women. And she is! Congratulations to Naomi and Wynona.

Even though The Judds have not recorded new music in I don’t know how long, I still play their old songs all the time. Their songs are timeless and I love them as much today as the first time I heard the music. Congratulations Naomi and Wynona. Thank you for the songs.

I honestly thought they were already in the Hall of Fame. What took so long?

    • DeLisa Lambert says:

You would be surprised at the artists you think are in the Country Music Hall of Fame and they aren’t there. Same way with the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame — well deserving, amazing artists are missing. But I am happy The Judds are finally in. They changed Country Music and should have been in long before this.
