Just when you think Dolly Parton has done it all, you have to think again. Dolly Parton’s new album, Rockstar, has become the biggest album debut across her seven-decade career. At the young age of 77, Dolly is at the top of the her game. Prior to its official release, the album featuring nine originals and 21 covers of some of the most iconic rock hits of all time produced several chart-topping hits including the original songs “Bygones (feat. Rob Halford)” and “World on Fire.” Now with the full 30-track on display, Rockstar sold 127,778 units in just the first week and landed the top spot on six different Billboard charts. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums, No. 1 on Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums, No. 1 on Billboard Top Country Albums, No. 1 on Billboard Top Album Sales, No. 1 on Billboard Top Current Album Sales, and No. 1 on Billboard Independent Albums charts. Additionally, it debuted at No. 2 on Billboard Vinyl Albums and No. 2 on the Billboard Tastemaker Albums charts. The album marks the Rock & Roll and Country Music Hall of Famers’ biggest debut week ever and biggest sales week in 30 years, following 1993’s Platinum-selling Slow Dancing With The Moon, which logged an impressive 50,000 units in its second chart week. And there is more. Dolly Parton now holds the record for the most top 10 albums achieved by a female artist. This album extends the Tennessee native’s run of No. 1s on Billboard Country Albums to 46 years, a record she claimed in 2020 with the top-charting debut of A Holly Dolly Christmas. This amazing accomplishment began with 1977’s Here You Come Again and continues into the present. “I owe a thank you to the fans who have always been there for me. Their support made this achievement possible,” acknowledges the always humble artist. “I’d also like to thank my producer Kent Wells, all the wonderful artists, musicians, and engineers who brought their talents to this project.” Congratulations Queen Dolly.
