Brandy Moss-Scott rose to musical prominence when she became the first Independent label artist to enter Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop Sales chart at # 1 with her song, “I Don’t Really Know” taken from her FRESH CD. Today she is enjoying the success of “Bennie & The Jets,” a remake of Sir Elton John’s classic 70’s hit. So, why did Brandy who is a successful songwriter on her own, choose to to remake a classic? “It’s one of my favorite songs,” she states. “I feel I can relate to ‘electric boots and mohair suits.’ I had fun recording such a classic.”The awarding singer admits there are other classic remakes to follow. “ I have recorded several for future release,” she admits, “like ‘The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia,’ ‘Hello Stranger,’ and Gene Chandler’s “Fooled You This Time.’ But I think ‘Bennie’ still has a lot of live left before I do another release.” Stay tuned to Brandy Moss Scott.
