By now everybody knows that last March Beyonce released “Cowboy Carter,” her eighth studio album that hit # 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Chart, making the superstar the first Black woman to accomplish this feat. Also by now, just about everybody knows that Beyonce and that ground breaking album, was snubbed by the CMA with zero nominations for their annual award show. And just about everybody has an opinion about this too, including Country Star Luke Bryan who recently told Andy Cohen on his “Radio Andy” show something very interesting. “Everybody loved that Beyoncé made a country album. Nobody’s mad about it,” Luke stated. ”But where things get a little tricky … if you’re going to make country albums, come into our world and be country with us a little bit.” Luke, who is co-hosting the CMAs once again this year with NFL legend Peyton Manning on November 20, is hoping Beyonce will come out to all the Country Award shows whether she is nominated or not. Luke would love for her to, as he told Andy, “come to an award show and high-five us and have fun and get in the family too.” Whether that happens or not, remains to be seen, and everybody is going to have their own opinion. But the fact remains. Beyonce with “Cowboy Carter” had one of the biggest selling Country albums of the year. Award nominations or not, she is still a winner. Queen Bee remains the Queen.
